Directional Development
Creation of seasonal mood & color stories. Mood and color stories establish the tone and direction of the entire season’s collection and are built through influences of the client’s inspiration, consultant’s own concepts and fashion forecasting services.
Industry Design Studio may also provides fresh graphic and print direction to strengthen directional stories.
Industry Design Studio will capture the essence of each seasonal mood and color concepts with well thought out presentation boards that fit within the client’s brand vision. This includes directional trim, fabric, wash and graphic / print stories to widen the directional scope of the season.
Industry Design Studio will include key design concepts and overall key looks for the season. Key design concepts are influenced by the mood and color story that has been established / approved by the client for a sense of cohesion within the collection.
Industry Design Studio will establish wash development and finishing techniques in collaboration with laundry partners. Consultant will find vintage and inspirational samples, as well as image references to establish wash color and treatment stories.
Fabric, Trim + Wash Development
Development of trim, fabric, wash and embellishment techniques to establish an evolved and cohesive collection while maintaining brand consistency.
Directional materials are built together to fit within the overall mood and color direction, setting the tone for the season.
Industry Design Studio will develop new fabrics, trims and embellishments with partnered vendors; this may include sourcing vintage finds or inspirational samples.
Industry Design Studio will develop trim packages with a clear brand identity including hardware, labels and hangtags. Consultant will communicate and follow up directly with global fabric and trim vendors by providing material, quality and aesthetic direction.
Industry Design Studio will establish wash development and finishing techniques in collaboration with premium LA-based laundries in order to create innovative wash stories with a forward aesthetic.
Design, Illustration + Tech Pack Development
Thoughtfully designed collection pieces with construction, functionality and fabrication in mind. Designs will be trend aware and brand appropriate. The consultant maintains high product standards that will produce premium goods while working within company IMU’s to keep the collection cost-effective.
Industry Design Studio will produce line presentations for each season by creating key concept illustrations, hand drawn or colored CADs, mood and color inspiration boards, as well as trim, fabric and wash stories.
Industry Design Studio will create thorough technical design sheets that give clear direction for partnered factories and business partners. Technical design sheets will include CADs, style details, construction and trim specifications.
Industry Design Studio will connect, strategize and maintain open lines of communication with all business partners to ensure information is shared and acted upon quickly and correctly within calendar due dates to establish a clear, cohesive collection.
Fit Development
Oversees and directs fittings for each style to ensure fit and aesthetic fully capture the essence of the original design and fits appropriately for the target demographic.
Industry Design Studio will conduct fittings for each style, working closely with pattern makers and sewers for aesthetic and fit direction.
Industry Design Studio will perform fittings with extensive fit knowledge and a trained understanding of pattern and sewing construction.
Industry Design Studio will communicate and work directly with pattern, sewing and product development teams to ensure styles are executed accurately and efficiently.
Creates and passes intial tech packs to pd, tech, pattern and sewing teams, updating as necessary until production hand off.
